Asking “is it safe” is the code word for “help me find my way out of my comfort zone.” Sometimes it just takes an outreached hand to help people step into the beauty of a world they’ve never seen.

Common sense traveling & driving rules:
Don’t drive at night. Things seem to go wrong at night for travelers. Arrive at your destination well before sundown. Google Maps arrival estimate is often wrong, so give yourself extra time.
Overnight bus travel is common and safe on 1st class bus lines.
Stop and enjoy close-by destinations. Instead of planning a huge highway drive/travel to make it somewhere far away, consult the GEM map: Google Maps - Web-based map, arrive early and visit Pueblo Magicos and other interesting destinations. There is so much to see and do, there is no need to avoid everything along the way just to get to the next far away city. Your trip is safer and more enjoyable when you drive/travel less.
Know where you are spending the night. Many hotels have secure parking or a secure lot close by if you drive. Visit our lodging guide. Each destination on the map or guides has help with lodging. Love Hotels provide a secure garage for overnight travel lodging if need be.
If you travel by motorcycle, understand parking safety.

PROFECO is where you report any sort of scam or shortage. It’s the consumer protection agency. Even the mention you will contact PROFECO will often change a wrong to a right. Take a picture and mention PROFECO. Mexico City Office - Wiki
